Over the course of my career as a graphic designer, I have worked with leaders in the field of education and international not for profit organisations. My creative practice has enabled me to bridge the gap between art and design, incorporating new technologies into my practice.
ReBranding of Trinity Sport (2016-2017)
As graphic designer in Trinity College Dublin I was tasked with rebranding the Department of Sport. This rebranding included developing a new visual identity, working with Kukri in the design of a sport kit and the creation of a mascot for TCD.
Malala: The illustrated story
Visual narrative storybook created to tell the story of Malala Yousafzai. Exhibited in the Wilson Gallery, Cheltenham. Commended by University of Gloucestershire.
what on earth: A global conversation
I was approached by Goal Global and asked to participate in their fundraising initiative ‘What on Earth’. My creative submission titled ‘A Global Conversation’, features the quotes from many influential change makers in the form of calligraphy carved into the painted background.
Residency: Scuola Internazionale di Grafica
As part of my residency at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica I undertook a number of different printmaking techniques. During my residency in Venice I experimented with hard-ground etching, soft-ground etching, aquatint, drypoint etching and photo incision.
European Network of Academic Sports Services: Report
Working with ENAS representatives in a freelance capacity, I designed the forum and assembly report for their conference in Malta. Work included image editing and implementation of organisations brand guidelines.
Stop the lights Animation
Animation created as one of my final year projects. The digital animation sought to highlight all the different phrases unique to the north east region of Ireland.
Hares on the March: A Hare for all seasons
In 2016, I was asked to design a hare for the Jack and Jill Foundation to help them raise funds for essential respite care. My hare ‘A Hare For All Seasons’ was created by scanning in leaves at different stages of decay and creating a collage using these on the fibre glass sculpture.
I created a series of decorative typographic linocuts which illustrate different inspirational quotes.
Trinity College Dublin: School of EDUCATION - pPALS
In a freelance capacity, I was asked to develop a sports training manual for people with intellectual disabilities. As part of this project I developed a logo for the programme and designed t-shirts for programme participants.
FREE ALBERT WOODFOX
Poster created to raise awareness of the USA’s longest serving solitary confinement prisoner. The poster highlights events which took place within the 43 years in which Albert was imprisoned.
