As I have recently completed my Professional Masters of Education in Art and Design with Digital Media, I am very up to date with current assessment practices and procedures. During my two school placements, I was tasked with assessing students work, undertaking both formative and summative assessment. I have found that the use of assessment design plans can be extremely beneficial in helping to structure assessment practices over a particular time period.
Evaluating students capabilities in the subject area (in terms of their suitability to higher/ ordinary level) was also one of my core purposes when conducting parent teacher meetings while on placement. In this regard, it was important to provide parents with breakdown of results and define areas for improvement.
